Welcome to Capital Quilters
Capital Quilters meets at 1:30pm on the last Saturday of every month at the Waterloo School Hall, Hardy Street, Lower Hutt. The hall is five minutes walk from Waterloo Station. Non-members are welcome and are asked to pay $2 to visit, and are asked to join after two visits. Capital Quilters is a not for profit incorporated society.
UFO Night
This is on the second Friday of the month at St James Church Hall, Woburn Road, Lower Hutt. Entry is $3.50 (members) for non eaters and $7.50 for those wishing to stitch and have 1 piece of fish and chips. Non members are asked to pay $2 extra. Payment is for use of the hall whether you are stitching, chatting, scrapbooking..... Meal normally arrives about 7pm.
Membership
Members pay an annual fee of $35 which entitles you to:
- Free entry to meetings.
- Use of the extensive library - we hold in excess of 500 books on quilting and related activities. We have magazine subscriptions as well as new titles coming in each month.
- Monthly newsletter "Pieces and Patches" - You can be on our postal or email list for our monthly newsletter.
- Speakers - at least 8 months of the year we arrange speakers for the meeting.
- Retreats - how about a weekend away for just stitching, as a member you will receive a small subsidy to attend club run retreats.
- Have an opportunity to display your quilts in exhibition. Held biennially.
- Meet new people and have a part in the regions wider quilting activities.
Membership is due at the AGM or during a grace period three months thereafter (late fees apply for already registered members not paid up by the August meeting). New members starting during the year pay on a pro-rata basis.
